आईसीसी वनडे वर्ल्ड कप को सबसे ज्यादा 5 बार जीतने वाली ऑस्ट्रेलिया की टीम का इस बार के टूर्नामेंट में बुरा हाल हो गया. भारत में खेले जा रहा विश्व कप ऑस्ट्रेलिया के लिए अब तक बेहद खराब रहा है. शुरुआती दो मुकाबलों में टीम को दो एकतरफा हार मिली. पहले भारतीय टीम ने 6 विकेट से धोया और फिर साउथ अफ्रीका के हाथों 134 रन से शिकस्त मिली. यह विश्व कप में ना सिर्फ कंगारू टीम की सबसे बडी हार है बल्कि टूर्नामेंट के इतिहास में पहली बार टीम को लगातार चार हार का सामना करना पड़ा.
