Flash flooding forces evacuation of elementary school in western Maryland

Severe flooding in Westernport, Maryland, prompted the evacuation of Westernport Elementary, with 150 students and 50 adults rescued by boat. Homes and businesses were inundated after heavy rain, and surrounding areas saw additional evacuations. No injuries were reported. Governor Moore is monitoring the situation, and emergency crews from nearby counties are assisting.
